Forefoot Pain (Metatarsalgia)

Pain in the forefoot is often collectively termed metatarsalgia denoting pain over the balls of the feet and is symptomatic of many different conditions:

  • Loss of fibro-fatty padding that protects the balls of the feet
  • Capsulitis
  • Neuroma
  • Bursitis
  • Stress fracture
  • Sesamoiditis
  • Transfer overloading
  • Osteochondritis
  • Poor footwear

It is vital that the correct diagnosis is made to identify your condition so that a treatment plan can be followed to help alleviate your pain.
